On a particularly cold November morning, my daughter and I went out just before sunrise to explore a lake at sunrise. As it had been a little warmer the day before, I was hoping we’d see some fog rising off the lake. The cold was almost unbearable within moments of my getting outside the car, and I was really only able to get a few photos before my fingers stopped working.

The geese hadn’t realized yet it was time to fly south, so they still swam languidly about, making for a lovely sunrise winter morning.
